Quick summary
Adding a data source in Power BI lets you import external files and tables directly into your workspace so you can begin building reports and visuals. The process takes just a few clicks using the Get Data button on the Home tab.
Steps
- Navigate to the Home tab in Power BI and click the Get Data button to begin the import process.
- Select your preferred data source from the list of available connection options.
- When prompted, choose your file from your local directory and click Open to upload it.
