How to Add a Custom Field in Jira
To add a custom field in Jira, follow these steps:
- Click on the gear icon in the top-right corner.
- Select 'Issues'.
- On the left-hand side of the page, under the 'Fields' section, click on 'Custom fields'.
- In the custom fields section, click the 'Create custom field' button usually found at the top-right.
- Jira will prompt you to select a type of field. You can choose from different field types and click 'Next' once you have chosen your preferred field.
- Provide a name and description for the custom field. Click 'Create' to move to the next step.
- Select the appropriate screens and click 'Update'.
- The custom field is now created and available for use in the selected projects and screens.
