Quick summary
The mask tool in Google Slides lets you crop images into custom shapes like circles or diamonds directly from the toolbar. Use the Crop arrow to access mask shapes and apply them instantly to any inserted image.

- In the top menu, click Insert.
- From the dropdown menu, click Image.
- Choose where you want to upload or select your image from.
- Once the image is added to the slide, click the Crop icon in the toolbar at the top.
- Crop the image to your preferred size or shape — a square crop usually works well before applying a mask.
- Click the small arrow beside the Crop icon.
- Choose the shape you want to use as the mask.
- You're done — your image is now masked into the selected shape in Google Slides.
