Quick summary
To unmute on Teams, open Settings, navigate to Privacy, and enable the keyboard shortcut to unmute so your microphone is ready when meetings start. Once configured, your microphone will be unmuted by default when you join or start a meeting instantly.
Steps
- Click on the three dots icon in Microsoft Teams to open the menu.
- Select Settings from the dropdown list.
- Choose the Privacy option from the Settings menu.
- Make sure the keyboard shortcut to unmute toggle is turned on.
- When you start a meeting instantly, your microphone will be unmuted by default.
- During a meeting, click the mic button to mute your microphone if required.
