This demo shows how to create a Zap that automatically syncs new GitLab snippet comments to Slack, connecting your code review workflow to your team's messaging hub without any manual effort.
Steps
- Head over to the left-side panel and tap 'Create'.
- Choose 'Zaps' from the list of options.
- Click the 'Trigger' tab to start the integration process.
- Search for 'GitLab' and select it from the recommended matches.
- Click the 'Trigger Event' menu to view and explore the available options.
- Pick 'New Code Snippet Comment' from the given list.
- Tap 'Sign In' and log into your GitLab account.
- Provide your 'GitLab Hostname', 'Application ID', and 'Secret' if needed, or leave them blank and tap 'Yes, Continue to GitLab'.
- Click 'Authorize Zapier' to accept the terms and grant the necessary permissions.
- Specify the 'GitLab Project' that contains the snippet comment you wish to sync.
- Tap 'Continue' to run your input and test the Trigger.
- Choose the specific record you wish to use and click 'Continue With Selected Record'.
- Search for 'Slack' and choose it as the Action app.
- Tap the drop-down menu and pick the 'Action Event' you prefer to use.
- Click 'Sign In' and log into your Slack account.
- Tap 'Allow' to agree with the terms and grant the necessary permissions.
- Fill out the input fields with the required information one by one.
- Click 'Continue' to publish and enable the integration.
- Your GitLab snippet comments will now be synced to Slack automatically based on your preferences.
