- Go to vault.bitwarden.com in your browser and sign in to your Bitwarden account.
- Click Tools in the left navigation sidebar, then select Import from the dropdown.
- On the Import page, select your import destination - for example, your individual vault or an organization vault - then select LastPass (csv) as the file format from the dropdown.
- If you'd like the imported items moved to a specific folder, select it from the Folder dropdown. Otherwise, leave it set to No folder.
- Click Choose File and select your LastPass CSV file, then click Import to begin. Enter your master password in the confirmation window when prompted.
- Your passwords are now available across all your Bitwarden apps and browser extensions. Review the import summary to confirm how many items were added. Go back to your computer and permanently delete the CSV file.

📌 Why this matters
Why this matters
Bitwarden is one of the most trusted open-source password managers available, and switching from LastPass gives you a more transparent security model - especially important if your LastPass account was affected by the 2022 data breach. Moving your passwords takes just a few minutes, and because Bitwarden supports direct LastPass CSV imports, nothing gets lost in the process. Once you're set up, your full vault history is available across every device you use, with no disruption to your day-to-day workflow.
