Quick summary
A YouTube timestamp link lets you share a video so it starts playing at an exact moment, saving your recipient from scrubbing through content. You can generate a timestamped URL in seconds using YouTube's built-in share dialog.
Steps
- Open the YouTube video and play or scrub to the exact moment you want your recipient to start from.
- Click the Share button below the video player.
- In the share dialog, check the box labeled Start at and confirm the time shown matches the correct moment — edit it manually if needed.
- Copy the link from the field and paste it into an email, or directly send it using the available share options.
- Scroll right to see the full list of sharing destinations available.
