Resetting your LinkedIn account involves updating your profile details, clearing your activity, managing your network connections, and adjusting privacy and notification settings. This step-by-step process helps you rebuild your LinkedIn presence with a clean, professional slate.
Steps
- Go to your profile and click the Pencil icon below your banner to open the Edit Intro dialog.
- In the Edit Intro dialog box, scroll to the Headline section, then remove or rewrite your keywords.
- Update or remove outdated information from other details in the same Edit Intro dialog.
- Navigate to the profile sections and click the pencil icon to edit individual sections.
- In the Edit dialog box, update the details or click the Delete option at the bottom left to remove entries.
- Go to your Activity section and clear all posts by clicking the three-dot (…) icon, then select Delete post.
- Click My Network on the top menu to manage your connections.
- Go to Network Overview, update or disconnect connections, and withdraw all pending invites.
- Click your profile on the top menu and select Settings & Privacy.
- Visit each setting and modify notifications or reset them to default to complete the account reset.
