  1. Plan your video before anything else. Define your topic, your target viewer, and the outcome you want them to take away.[a]
  2. Write or refine your script with delivery in mind. Keep sentences short and natural so they are easy to say or display on screen.
  3. Set up your recording approach based on your content. You can record using a camera or capture your screen for demos.
  4. Use AI-generated clips for short branded videos like a trailer. Keep your setup simple with clear visuals and minimal distractions.[b][c]
  5. Record or generate your video clips based on your script. Keep each section short and focused so it is easier to edit later. [d]
  6. Edit your footage in a video editor such as DaVinci Resolve or CapCut. Trim unnecessary parts, arrange clips in sequence, and match the pacing of your script. Add text overlays for key lines like your hook or tagline if needed.
  7. Review your video from start to finish. Ensure the message is clear, pacing is smooth, and remove any repetitive sections.[e]
  8. Name the file using your video title so it is easy to find when uploading. Export your finished video as an MP4 file in 1080p resolution, so it is ready for upload to YouTube.
