Moving a task in Asana lets you reassign work to a different project without losing any task details or history. You can do this using the task pane's ellipsis menu or the keyboard shortcut Tab+P for faster project switching.
Steps
- Go to the Projects menu in Asana.
- Open the task you want to move to another project.
- In the task pane, click the ellipsis icon to open task settings.
- Click Add to another project from the dropdown options.
- Select the destination project you want to move the task to.
- Click on the project to confirm the task has been successfully added.
- Verify the task has been moved; repeat the process for additional projects if needed.
- To move the task again, select it and use the keyboard shortcut Tab+P to choose another project.
