How to Make Your YouTube Channel Searchable

Try this guided demo to learn how to make your YouTube channel searchable.
  1. Go to studio.youtube.com, click Customization in the left sidebar.
  2. In the Channel customization page, update your channel name and handle to clearly reflect your content focus or brand. Avoid vague or generic names, as specific names perform better in search.
  3. Write a short channel description (2–3 sentences) that explains what your channel covers, who it is for, and what viewers can expect. Include natural phrases your audience might search for, such as topics, industries, or content types.
  4. Click Publish to save your changes.
  5. Click Settings in the left sidebar, select Channel, then open the Basic info tab.
  6. Add relevant keywords in the Keywords field. Use specific multi-word phrases that describe your content rather than broad single terms, then click Save.
  7. Return to Customization and open the View channel tab.
  8. Confirm the changes and ensure that your channel has a profile picture and banner image, as complete branding helps improve visibility and recommendations.
