Steps

  1. Click the 'Create a design' button at the top right and select your design type.
  2. In the edit toolbar, click 'Elements' to open the elements panel.
  3. Use the search bar to enter 'Grid' or browse the available options below.
  4. Click 'See all' beside the Grids section to view all available grid layouts.
  5. Click on your preferred grid to add it to your design canvas automatically.
  6. Resize and reposition the grid by clicking and dragging its corners or edges.
  7. Open the 'Uploads' menu to access your image library.
  8. Drag and drop photos from your image library into the grid cells.
  9. Click the 'Spacing' option and use the slider to adjust spacing between grid cells.

📌 Why this matters

Creating a grid in Canva allows designers and content creators to build polished, multi-image layouts without needing professional design software. Canva's built-in grid elements make it easy to organize photos in structured formats ideal for social media posts, presentations, and marketing collateral. The ability to customize spacing, borders, and image placement gives users precise visual control directly within the drag-and-drop editor. This feature is especially valuable for teams and individuals who need to produce professional-quality visual content quickly and consistently.
