Quick summary
Logging time in Jira lets teams accurately track hours spent on each issue using the built-in Time Tracking field. Enter time in weeks, days, hours, or minutes format and save it directly from the issue panel on your Jira board.
Steps
- Click on the Issue card on your Jira board to open it.
- Scroll down inside the issue panel to find the Time Tracking column.
- Enter the time spent in W D H M format (weeks, days, hours, minutes).
- Hit Save to record your logged time.
- Confirm the success prompt that appears once the time has been saved.
