Quick summary
This walkthrough shows how to create a Zap that connects GitHub and Discord, automatically sending a channel message with your repository's Stargazers Count whenever a new repository event is triggered.
Steps
- Navigate to the left-side panel and click Create.
- Select Zaps from the list of options.
- Tap the Trigger tab to start the integration process.
- Search for GitHub and choose it from the recommended matches.
- Tap the Trigger Event menu to view the available options.
- Pick New Repository from the list of choices.
- Tap Sign In and log into your GitHub account.
- Click Continue to proceed.
- Tap Test Trigger to run your input.
- Select the specific record containing the Stars you wish to link, then click Continue With Selected Record.
- Search for Discord and select it as the Action app.
- Tap the Action Event menu to proceed.
- Select Send Channel Message from the available options.
- Click Sign In and log into your active Discord account.
- Choose the Discord server you wish to use, then click Continue.
- Tick the checkbox beside the permissions you wish to allow, then tap Authorize.
- Fill out the input fields with the required integration information.
- Select the Message Text field and tap its corresponding Add button.
- Choose Stargazers Count from the list of options.
- Click Continue to publish and enable the integration.
- Your GitHub Stars count will now be linked and sent automatically to Discord based on your configuration.
