Use this interactive demo to learn how to sync and link bases across your Airtable workspace.

Quick summary

Linking bases in Airtable lets you sync data across multiple workspaces without duplicating records manually. Using the Share and Sync feature, you can connect a source view to any destination base in just a few clicks.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the top menu bar, then click Share and Sync.
  2. Click Sync Data to Another Base to open the sync options.
  3. Toggle on the radio button next to Allow Data in this View to be Synced to Other Bases.
  4. Tap Sync This View to confirm the source view selection.
  5. Choose the specific Workspace and Base where you want to link the current base, then click Create Table to continue.
  6. After completing these steps, the two bases in Airtable will be linked instantly.

📌 Why this matters

Linking bases in Airtable eliminates data silos by allowing teams to sync records across separate workspaces in real time without manual data entry or duplication. The base-linking feature is essential for organizations that manage multiple projects or departments in Airtable and need a single source of truth shared across different bases. By using the Sync Data to Another Base workflow, teams can ensure that any update made in the source view is automatically reflected in connected bases, reducing errors and saving hours of manual work. This makes Airtable a powerful relational database tool for cross-functional collaboration at scale.
