Use this interactive demo to learn how to connect Intercom events to Microsoft Teams via Make.

Quick summary

This tutorial shows how to integrate Microsoft Teams with Intercom using Make (formerly Integromat) by building an automated scenario that sends Teams messages based on Intercom trigger events. By connecting these two platforms through a webhook, support and operations teams can route customer conversation activity directly into their Teams channels without manual effort.

Steps

  1. In the scenario editor, click the add icon, search for Intercom, and click on it.
  2. Select a trigger event for Intercom.
  3. Click 'Create a webhook' to integrate Intercom with Make using a webhook.
  4. Click 'Create a connection' to begin authorizing access.
  5. Select 'Authorize access' to grant Make permission to connect to your Intercom account.
  6. Select the event type and click 'OK' to confirm the Intercom trigger settings.
  7. In the scenario editor, click the add icon, search for Microsoft Teams, and click on it.
  8. Choose an action event from Microsoft Teams and click on it.
  9. Set up the workflow to define how Intercom triggers should result in actions in Microsoft Teams, then click 'OK'.
  10. Click 'Run Once' to test the integration and confirm that the workflow sends the correct message to Microsoft Teams based on Intercom events.

📌 Why this matters

Integrating Microsoft Teams with Intercom via Make enables support and customer success teams to receive real-time Intercom conversation alerts directly inside their Teams workspace, eliminating the need to context-switch between tools. This no-code automation reduces response times by routing customer events — such as new conversations or lead activity — into the right Teams channels automatically. For organizations already using Microsoft Teams as their primary communication hub, this integration ensures that Intercom-driven customer signals are never missed. It is one of the fastest ways to bridge customer support data with internal team collaboration without writing a single line of code.
