How to Find Startups on LinkedIn

Updated on:
May 5, 2026
By:
Madhav Bhandari
Use this interactive demo to learn how to discover and evaluate startups using LinkedIn search filters.

Quick summary

LinkedIn's search filters and Companies tab let you quickly narrow results to find early-stage startups by keyword and company size. Once you identify a match, you can visit its profile page and review the About section to confirm it meets startup criteria.

Steps

  1. Type your keyword in the search bar on the top menu of your dashboard and press Enter.
  2. Click the Companies tab filter at the top of the search results.
  3. Click All filters to open the full filter panel.
  4. Select additional keywords such as company size of 1–10 employees to further narrow down results.
  5. Click Show results to apply your filters.
  6. Review the filtered results and choose a company to view its page.
  7. On the company page, navigate to the About section.
  8. Review the company's details to confirm it meets startup criteria — newly founded, small team, developing products or services.

📌 Why this matters

Finding startups on LinkedIn is a high-value skill for recruiters, investors, and sales professionals targeting early-stage companies. LinkedIn's built-in search filters — including the Companies tab and company size filter — make it possible to pinpoint startups with 1–10 employees in any industry without third-party tools. Reviewing a company's About section provides key signals such as founding date, team size, and product focus to quickly qualify or disqualify a lead. This workflow saves hours of manual research and enables faster, more targeted outreach to the startup ecosystem.
