Quick summary
Finding duplicates in Airtable is done using the Dedupe extension, which lets you scan any table and identify matching records based on exact or similar field values. Once installed from the Extensions Marketplace, Dedupe highlights duplicate entries on the right panel so you can review and clean your data without manual searching.
Steps
- Click on Extensions in the top right of your Airtable base.
- Hit the Add a dashboard button to open the extensions panel.
- Click the Add an extension button inside the dashboard.
- You will be taken to the Extensions Marketplace.
- Search for Dedupe and click Add to install it to your Airtable base.
- Once installed, select the Table where you want to find duplicates.
- Select your desired view and toggle the fields on or off to define which fields to check for duplicates.
- Select Exact to match records with identical field values.
- Use Similar to catch duplicates that share the same value but differ in capitalization, accents, punctuation, or word order.
- The duplicate values that satisfy your defined conditions will appear on the right side for review.
