‍

It is very easy to export data from Airtable to Excel. Here’s a short tutorial on how to do it in simple steps:

‍

  1. On Airtable's main dashboard, find and open the base that contains the data you want to download.
  2. After that, click the 'View' menu to proceed.
  3. Select 'Download CSV' from the list of options.
  4. Following that, go to your Excel workbook and click 'File' in the top menu bar.
  5. Subsequently, choose 'Import' to proceed
  6. Choose 'CSV File' as the type of file, then click 'Import'. Select the newly downloaded Airtable file from your local storage.
  7. To make sure that the data is arranged according to your Airtable fields, select 'Delimited' and then click 'Next'.
  8. Subsequently, select 'Comma' as the Delimiter and then tap 'Next'.
  9. Select your preferred column data format and tap 'Finish' afterwards.
  10. Finally, your Airtable data will be exported to Excel.

📌 Why this matters

Exporting to Excel unlocks advanced data analysis capabilities that Airtable's interface can't match - complex pivot tables, sophisticated formulas, and statistical functions that transform raw records into actionable insights.

Beyond analysis, you gain the flexibility to share data with stakeholders who prefer Excel's familiar environment or integrate with existing reporting workflows. Excel also serves as a reliable backup format, ensuring your structured data remains accessible even if cloud services experience downtime or access restrictions change unexpectedly.
