Enabling time tracking in Jira allows teams to log and monitor hours spent on issues directly within their project management workflow. Admins can activate this feature in under a minute via Jira Settings without any third-party tools.
Steps
- Click on the gear icon in the top-right corner of Jira to open the administration menu.
- Select Issues under the Jira Settings section in the admin menu.
- In the left-hand menu, scroll down to the Time Tracking section under Issue Features and click on it.
- Click Edit settings to open the time tracking configuration options.
- Click Save to enable time tracking for your Jira instance.
- With time tracking enabled, your team can now manage and monitor time spent on tasks to keep projects on schedule.
