Use this interactive demo to learn how to build and publish a custom interface in Airtable.

Quick summary

Airtable Interfaces let you create tailored, no-code views that surface filtered data from your existing tables for specific teams or use cases. You can build an interface using a pre-built layout or from scratch by dragging and dropping elements, then publish it directly within your Airtable base.

Steps

  1. Click on Interfaces in the top navigation bar to open the Interfaces section.
  2. Click the + icon in the left pane and select Add interface to start creating a new interface.
  3. Name your interface, choose an icon, and click Next to continue.
  4. Choose from the available layouts or select the option to build your interface from scratch.
  5. Select the table you want to pull data from.
  6. Add Filter conditions to control what data is displayed in your interface.
  7. Set your filter conditions according to your specific requirements.
  8. Pick your Elements to include in the interface and click Next.
  9. Click Finish once you have completed the setup.
  10. Click Publish in the top-right corner to make your interface live.
  11. Select the interface you want to publish and confirm by clicking the Publish button again.
  12. For interfaces built from scratch, use the Add element button to drag and drop elements into your layout.
  13. Choose from elements such as Text boxes, Grid, Calendar, and Record picker to build your interface.
  14. Use the Record picker element to pull and display data directly from your existing Airtable tables.

📌 Why this matters

Airtable Interfaces allow teams to build custom, no-code dashboards directly on top of their existing Airtable data, eliminating the need for separate reporting tools. By combining filtered table data, flexible layouts, and drag-and-drop elements like Record pickers, Grids, and Calendars, teams can surface exactly the right information for each stakeholder. Publishing an interface takes just a few clicks, making it easy to roll out tailored views across an organization without any developer involvement. This makes Airtable Interfaces a powerful feature for teams looking to streamline data access, improve visibility, and accelerate decision-making.
