How to Create a Workstream in Jira

Jira does not have a dedicated workstream feature, but you can replicate one by creating an Epic, linking related issues to it, and tracking progress using the Epic Report.

Steps

1. Click Create in the top menu to open the issue creation dialog.
2. In the Issue Type dropdown, select Epic to set the issue type for your workstream.
3. Click Create to confirm and create the Epic.
4. Click Link issue to attach existing issues — such as stories, tasks, or bugs — to the Epic so all related work is grouped under the workstream.
5. Click Reports in the project sidebar to access the reporting section.
6. Select Epic Report from the list of available reports.
7. Select epic workstream from the Epic dropdown to filter the report to your specific workstream.
8. Review the workstream progress — all linked issues and their statuses are now visible and trackable through the Epic Report.
