How to Create a Future Sprint in Jira

‍

Creating a future sprint in Jira allows you to plan and organize work that will be tackled in upcoming iterations. Here's how you can create a future sprint in Jira:

  1. Open the Jira project where your Scrum board is located. In the Scrum board, click on 'Backlog' in the left sidebar.
  2. Click on 'Create sprint'.
  3. A new sprint container will appear in the backlog. You can create multiple future sprints by repeating the process.
  4. Drag and drop backlog items into the sprint container to include them in the future sprint.
  5. Since this is a future sprint, do not start it yet. You can leave it in the backlog until the current sprint is completed.
