Use this interactive demo to learn how to export a Canva presentation directly to Google Slides.

Quick summary

You can convert a Canva presentation to Google Slides by sharing it to Google Drive as a PPTX file, which can then be opened and edited natively in Google Slides. This method requires connecting your Google Drive account inside Canva's Share menu and takes under a minute to complete.

Steps

  1. Open the Canva presentation you want to convert in Google Slides.
  2. Click the Share button in the top-right corner of Canva.
3. Click the More button to expand additional sharing options.
  4. Use the search bar to search for Google Drive.
  5. Select Google Drive from the search results.
  6. Click Connect Google Drive to link your account and enable saving designs to Google Drive.
  7. After connecting, open the File Type dropdown to choose your export format.
  8. Select the PPTX option from the file type list.
  9. Click Save to upload your design to Google Drive in PPTX format.
  10. Click View in Google Drive to access your uploaded Canva presentation and open it in Google Slides.

📌 Why this matters

Converting Canva designs to Google Slides lets teams collaborate on polished presentations without leaving the Google Workspace ecosystem. By exporting directly to Google Drive as a PPTX file, users preserve their Canva formatting while gaining full Google Slides editing capabilities. This workflow eliminates manual file downloads and uploads, saving time for marketers, educators, and business professionals who work across both platforms. It is the fastest way to bridge Canva's design tools with Google Slides' real-time collaboration features.
