How to Concatenate in Tableau

📌 Why this matters
Concatenating fields lets you create meaningful identifiers and labels by combining separate data points—like merging first and last names or joining product codes with descriptions. This becomes particularly powerful when you're building dashboards for non-technical stakeholders who need context at a glance. Instead of showing separate columns that require mental assembly, you present complete, readable information. The real advantage emerges when filtering or grouping data, as concatenated fields often reveal patterns that aren't visible when values remain split across multiple columns.
