This tutorial shows how to check SharePoint permissions for selected users by navigating through Site Permissions and Advanced Permissions Settings. In just a few steps, SharePoint administrators can look up exactly which access levels any user holds on a site.
Steps
- From the main dashboard of your SharePoint site, click the Settings icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Site Permissions from the dropdown list of options.
- Click Advanced Permissions Settings to open the full permissions management page.
- In the top menu bar, click Check Permissions.
- Enter the name or email address of the user whose permissions you want to verify, then click Check Now.
- Review the SharePoint permission details for the selected user displayed on screen.
