How to Change Slide Dimensions Google Slides

Updated on:
May 5, 2026
By:
Madhav Bhandari
Use this interactive demo to learn how to resize slides in Google Slides using Page Setup.

Quick summary

You can change slide dimensions in Google Slides by opening Page setup from the File menu and selecting a preset or custom size. This lets you set any width and height for your presentation slides in just a few clicks.

Steps

  1. In the top menu, click File.
  2. From the dropdown menu, select Page setup.
  3. In the Page setup window, click the size dropdown menu.
  4. Choose a preset size, such as Standard (4:3), Widescreen (16:9), or Custom.
  5. If you choose Custom, enter the width and height you want for your slides.
  6. Click Apply to save the new slide dimensions.
  7. Your slide dimensions will now be updated throughout the presentation.

📌 Why this matters

Knowing how to change slide dimensions in Google Slides is essential for anyone creating presentations that need to match specific display formats, such as printed handouts, social media graphics, or custom screen resolutions. Google Slides supports standard aspect ratios like 16:9 and 4:3, as well as fully custom width and height values, giving users precise control over their slide canvas size. Getting slide dimensions right from the start prevents layout issues and ensures your content looks polished across every output format. This feature is a core part of professional presentation design in Google Slides.
