Here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to change a bug to a story in Jira

  1. Open the bug from your board.
  2. Click on the three dots menu on the top right and hit Move.
  3. If it's a services project, you might need to move the bug to the different project that has stories configured. (Scrum board etc.)
  4. Choose the new issue type as "Story."
  5. Hit Next.
  6. Update the Status to which the converted bug should be set.‍
  7. Confirm to finish changing the bug to a story.
