This demo shows how to automate Linear issue creation from Zendesk tickets using a Zapier Zap, eliminating manual handoffs between support and engineering teams. By connecting Zendesk as the trigger app and Linear as the action app, teams can ensure every tagged support ticket automatically generates or updates a tracked issue in Linear.
Steps
- From your Zapier dashboard, select Zap to begin building a new automation.
- Click on the Trigger field to select the event that will start the Zap.
- Search and select Zendesk as your trigger app.
- Select a trigger event to define what action in Zendesk starts the workflow.
- Connect your Zendesk account to authorize the integration.
- Choose the tag you want to use and click Continue.
- Click Test trigger to verify the Zendesk connection returns sample data.
- Search and select Linear as the action app.
- Select an action event to define what Linear does when the Zap fires.
- Connect your Linear account to authorize the action step.
- Configure the action details and click Continue to map Zendesk data to Linear fields.
- Select Test step to confirm the action runs correctly in Linear.
- Once the test is successful, click Publish to activate the Zap.
