Quick summary
Jira's Quick Filters let scrum teams instantly narrow their board view using custom JQL queries, making it faster to focus on the issues that matter most during a sprint. You can create a new Quick Filter directly from Board settings in just a few clicks — no admin expertise required.
Steps
- Open your Jira project and navigate to the Scrum board where you want to add the Quick Filters.
- Click the ellipsis icon in the top-right corner of the board to open the board menu.
- Select Configure Board from the dropdown menu.
- In the left-hand menu of the Board settings, click Create quick filter.
- Enter a filter name that will appear as a label on the board.
- Enter the JQL (Jira Query Language) statement that defines which issues are displayed when the filter is active.
- Add an optional description to explain what the filter does.
- Click Create to save the quick filter.
- A confirmation notification appears and your new filter is added to the list of available Quick Filters on the board.
- Your Quick Filter is now live — use it to streamline your workflow and focus on specific issue types on your Scrum board.
