Adding PMP to your LinkedIn name signals your project management credentials to recruiters and peers at a glance. This process also lets you formally list the Project Management Professional certification in your LinkedIn licenses and certifications section for full visibility.
Steps
- Confirm you have earned the PMP certification from the Project Management Institute before making any profile changes.
- If you have not yet earned it, click 'Certifications' on the PMI site, choose a course, complete it, and earn your certificate.
- Go to your LinkedIn profile page and click the 'pencil icon' below your banner to edit your profile.
- In the last name field, add 'PMP' at the end of your surname.
- Click 'Save' to apply the name change.
- Click the 'Add section' button below your profile name and photo.
- Under Recommended, select 'Add licenses & certifications'.
- In the name field, choose 'Project Management Professional (PMP)' and in the issuing organization field select 'Project Management Institute'.
- Complete all other required certification details in the form.
- Click the 'Add media' button to attach your official certification document from the organization.
- Click 'Save' to publish your certification to your LinkedIn profile.
