Steps

  1. Log in to your Jira account.
  2. On your dashboard, identify the project where you want to add a Spike issue.
  3. Click Project settings in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
  4. Navigate to the Issue types tab in Project settings.
  5. Click Add issue type to begin creating a new type.
  6. Select Create issue type from the available options.
  7. Fill in the issue type details, click Change icon to select an icon, then click the Create button to save.
  8. Your Spike issue type is now created — fill in any additional data as needed.
