Quick summary
Most Webflow changes are automatically saved, but you can also create a named manual backup using a keyboard shortcut and restore it anytime from the Settings panel. Knowing how to save changes in Webflow — including creating and rolling back to backups — helps you protect your design progress at every stage.
Steps
- Understand that most changes in Webflow — such as editing text — are automatically saved without any action required.
- Note that certain settings panels, like the page settings page, include a dedicated Save button to apply your changes.
- Check the tick mark icon in the top right corner to confirm whether your current state is saved and up to date.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + S to trigger a manual backup of your current project state.
- In the Save backup window that appears, give your backup a name so you can identify it for future rollbacks.
- Enter a name for the save point and click the Save button to confirm.
- To access your saved backup later, open the Settings tab in the bottom left of the Webflow editor.
- Locate and click the Backups option within the Settings panel.
- Hover over your backup to reveal the three-dot icon with available options.
- Select your preferred action from the options menu to restore or manage your backup.
