How To Merge Contacts in HubSpot

Use this interactive demo to learn how to combine duplicate contacts in HubSpot.

Quick summary

Merging duplicate contacts in HubSpot keeps your CRM clean and ensures all contact data is consolidated under a single record. The merge contacts feature lets you select a primary and secondary contact, then combine them in just a few clicks from the Contacts list.


Steps

  1. Click on Contacts in the HubSpot navigation menu.
  2. Select Contacts again to reveal the full contact list.
  3. Click to preview the contact you want to merge.
  4. Click on Actions in the contact record toolbar.
  5. Find Merge in the Actions dropdown menu.
  6. Click to reveal the search dropdown for selecting the secondary contact.
  7. Find and select the secondary contact you want to merge from the dropdown.
  8. Hit Merge to complete the process and combine the contacts.
