Use this interactive demo to learn how to download your Webflow site's clean HTML and CSS code.

Quick summary

Webflow lets you export clean HTML and CSS code from any project directly within the Designer interface. You can access the Export Code option from the top menu icon or the hamburger menu, then download a ZIP file containing all your site's code and assets.

Steps

  1. From the top menu on the right side, click on the Export Code icon to begin the export process.
  2. Alternatively, open the Webflow hamburger menu in the top left corner of the Designer.
  3. From the hamburger menu, select Export Code to proceed.
  4. The Export Code menu will open, allowing you to preview your code and assets before downloading.
  5. Use the shortcut Ctrl + O to enable the option to download a minified HTML file.
  6. Click Prepare ZIP to package all your code and assets into a downloadable ZIP file.
  7. Finally, click Download ZIP to save your exported Webflow code to your computer.

📌 Why this matters

Exporting clean, production-ready HTML and CSS code from Webflow gives developers and designers full ownership of their website files without being locked into a proprietary platform. This feature is essential for teams that need to host their Webflow-built site on a custom server, integrate it into a development pipeline, or hand off code to external developers. The ability to download a structured ZIP file — including minified HTML and all assets — makes Webflow a flexible, developer-friendly choice for building and deploying professional websites. For agencies and freelancers, Webflow's code export capability bridges the gap between no-code design and traditional front-end development workflows.
