How to Create a Quote in Salesforce

Use this interactive demo to learn how to generate a quote directly from a Salesforce opportunity.

This tutorial shows how to create a quote in Salesforce by adding products to an opportunity and setting custom pricing. Sales reps can use this workflow to generate, configure, and save a new quote with the correct sales price, quantity, and expiration date.


Steps

  1. Navigate to the Opportunities tab and select My Opportunities.
  2. Choose the opportunity where you want to create the quote.
  3. Click on Products.
  4. Select Add Products.
  5. Add the product you are creating a quote for and hit Next.
  6. Review the product's original sale price.
  7. Edit the Sales Price and Quantity as per the quote you are planning to pitch.
  8. Hit Save.
  9. Confirm the updated Price and Quantity are reflected on the screen.
  10. Go back to the opportunities page and click on Quotes in the right column.
  11. Click the New Quote button.
  12. Fill in the Quote Information fields including Name, Expiration Date, and Status.
  13. Hit Save to finalize the quote.
  14. Review your completed quote with the updated price and quantity.
