Quick summary
ClickUp's built-in Mind Map view lets you visually brainstorm, plan, and organize ideas without leaving your project workspace. You can add, edit, and rearrange nodes, assign tasks, set due dates, and customize colors — all within a single ClickUp Space or Folder.
Steps
- Navigate to the Space or Folder where you want to create the mind map.
- Click the '+View' icon to add a new view to your Space or Folder.
- Select 'Mind Map' from the list of available view options.
- Enter a name for your new mind map.
- Click the 'Blank' option to start building your mind map from scratch.
- Click on the central node to define your main idea or topic.
- Click the '+' icon next to the central node to add sub-nodes.
- Continue adding nodes to expand your mind map by clicking the plus icon on any existing node.
- Use the zoom controls to zoom in and out of your mind map for better navigation.
- Drag and drop nodes to rearrange them into your preferred layout.
- Change the colors of your nodes to visually organize different branches or topics.
- Click on any node to edit its details — add descriptions, assign tasks, set due dates, and more.
- A confirmation notification appears once a node has been successfully created in your mind map.
- Your mind map is now ready to help you brainstorm, plan, and organize information visually inside ClickUp.
