How to BCC Emails to Salesforce
This method involves including a specific Salesforce email address in the BCC field of your outgoing email. Here's how it works:
- Go to the Profile icon on the top right and select Settings.
- Search for "My Email to Salesforce" in the Quick Find box and select it.
- You will see your acceptable Email Addresses in the text field.
- You also get to see the Email to Salesforce Address. Copy this for BCC-ing emails.
- Select Automatically assign them to related salesforce.com records.
- Hit Save.
- You will get a success prompt saying your setting is saved.
- Compose your email:
- Use your preferred email client (e.g., Gmail, Outlook) to compose your email.
- In the BCC field, include the Salesforce BCC address you obtained in Step 4.
Notes:
- BCC-ing emails to Salesforce doesn't guarantee successful association with records.
- For advanced functionalities like automatic logging and field population based on email content, explore paid Salesforce products like Salesforce Inbox or Einstein Activity Capture.
- When composing the email, consider including the relevant Salesforce record ID (e.g., Opportunity ID, Lead ID) in the subject line or email body. This helps Salesforce automatically link the incoming email to the corresponding record.
