How to Add IP Address in Salesforce

‍

Here’s a step-by-step tutorial to add an allowed IP address in Salesforce:

  1. Go to Setup on the top right.
  2. Search for  Network Access in the Quick Find. You will find it under Security.
  3. Click on New.
  4. In the Start IP Address and End IP Address fields, define the allowed IP address range (in CIDR notation, e.g., 192.168.1.0/24).
  5. Enter a descriptive label for the IP range (e.g., "Allowed Login IPs").
  6. Click Save.

Note:

  • Restricting logins by IP can be bypassed by users with access to VPNs or proxy servers. It's best used as an additional security layer.
  • Restricting logins by IP is generally not recommended as a primary security measure due to potential limitations (e.g., dynamic IP addresses). It's often used in conjunction with other security features like two-factor authentication.
