Use this interactive demo to learn how to open and use the Webflow Editor from your dashboard.

Quick summary

The Webflow Editor lets you make quick content edits directly on your live site without touching the Designer. You can access the Editor from the Webflow dashboard or from inside the Designer, then publish changes instantly.

Steps

  1. From the Webflow dashboard, click on the three-dot menu next to your project to view options.
  2. Select the Editor option from the dropdown menu.
  3. Alternatively, hover over your project and click the gear icon to open project settings.
  4. Select the Editor option from the top-right of the settings panel.
  5. Or, from inside the Webflow Designer, use the top-right toggle to switch between Designing and Editing mode.
  6. Once inside editing mode, you can begin making content changes to your website.
  7. Hover over any element and click the pencil icon to edit text or content inline.
  8. Your changes will save automatically as you work.
  9. View a list of all unpublished changes before going live.
  10. Click the Publish button to push your changes live and update your website.

📌 Why this matters

The Webflow Editor gives non-technical users and content managers a simple way to update website copy and content without accessing the full Designer interface. By switching into editing mode directly from the dashboard or the Designer, teams can make quick, accurate content changes and publish them instantly. This reduces reliance on developers for routine updates, speeds up content workflows, and keeps live websites accurate and up to date. For teams managing Webflow sites at scale, the Editor is an essential tool for maintaining content agility without risking layout or design integrity.
