Unlocking a Notion database lets you or your team edit the database layout again after it has been locked. You can choose to unlock just for yourself or for all users with access, giving you flexible control over database permissions.
Steps
- Open the Notion database that is locked.
- Click the Locked label near the top of the database.
- Select Unlock for me if you only want to unlock it on your side, or select Unlock for everyone if you want other users with access to edit the database layout too.
- Once unlocked, confirm the Re-lock icon appears near the top of the database, indicating the database is now editable — click Re-lock anytime to lock it again.
