You can stream YouTube movies on Discord by using the built-in screen share feature in a voice channel. Disabling Hardware Acceleration in Discord settings first ensures the video plays without a black screen.
Steps
- Open Discord desktop and click the Settings icon at the bottom left of the screen next to your username.
- Go to Voice & Video > Appearance > Advanced, then toggle off Hardware Acceleration.
- Click Change & Restart to allow Discord to restart and apply the change.
- Join a voice channel in your server by clicking its name in the left sidebar.
- Once in the voice channel, click the Share Your Screen button in the voice control panel at the bottom.
- In the screen share panel, select the Application Window tab and choose your browser from the list of open applications.
- Go to YouTube, open it, and play the movie you want to watch in Discord.
- To stop streaming, go back to Discord and click the Stop Streaming button in the voice control panel at the bottom of the screen.
