Steps
- Click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner to open your account menu.
- Select Settings from the menu that appears.
- Navigate to the Personalization tab on the left sidebar.
- Find Custom Instructions and fill in what ChatGPT should know about you — such as your role, goals, or working style.
- Describe how you want ChatGPT to respond — including preferred tone, structure, or level of detail.
- Click Save to apply your custom instructions to all future chats automatically.
- Your Custom Instructions are now active — ChatGPT will use your preferences in every conversation without you needing to repeat yourself.
