Use this interactive demo to learn how to build a study timetable database in Notion.

Quick summary

A Notion study timetable is a structured database that lets students schedule subjects, assign study dates with times, and track session progress using built-in status properties. This step-by-step guide shows exactly how to set up the timetable using Notion's native Table view and database features.

Steps

  1. Open Notion and type /table, then select Table view to create a new database.
  2. Rename the first column to Subject or Study Task.
  3. Add a new property and select the Date property type.
  4. Rename the date column to Study Schedule.
  5. Click a cell under Study Schedule, choose the study date, then enable Include time.
  6. Add a Status property to track each study session.
  7. Set each session's Status to Not Started, In Progress, or Done.
  8. Fill in the table with your subjects, study dates, and study times.
  9. Use the timetable to review what to study and update the status after each session.

📌 Why this matters

A Notion study timetable gives students a centralized, flexible way to plan and track every study session in one place. By combining a structured database with Date and Status properties, learners can visualize their entire study schedule, prioritize subjects, and monitor progress in real time. This approach eliminates scattered notes and missed deadlines by making study planning an active, trackable workflow. Notion's free-to-use database features make this an accessible productivity solution for students at every level.
