Use this interactive demo to learn how to build a daily mood tracker inside Notion.

Quick summary

A Notion mood tracker lets you log your daily emotional state using a structured database with custom properties. This step-by-step guide shows you how to create, configure, and fill a mood tracking table directly inside Notion.

Steps

  1. On your Notion page, type /table and select Table view to create a new database.
  2. Rename the database to something like Mood Tracker.
  3. Add a new property and set its type to Date.
  4. Rename the new property to Date.
  5. Add a Select property and rename it Mood.
  6. Click the first row under Mood and add mood options such as Happy, Okay, Tired, Stressed, and Sad.
  7. Confirm your Mood options are set up correctly.
  8. Optionally add a Notes property to record why you felt a certain way.
  9. Create a new row for each day you want to track.
  10. Fill in the Date, choose your Mood, and add any notes as needed.

📌 Why this matters

Building a mood tracker in Notion gives users a flexible, no-code way to monitor their emotional wellbeing directly inside their existing workspace. Unlike standalone apps, a Notion-based mood tracker integrates with your notes, tasks, and daily logs in one place. Using Notion's native database properties — including Select and Date fields — you can customize mood categories to match your personal experience. This makes Notion one of the most accessible tools for daily self-reflection and mental wellness tracking.
