Use this interactive demo to learn how to connect a Notion database and schedule items directly in Notion Calendar.

Quick summary

Linking a Notion database to Notion Calendar lets you visualize and schedule your existing tasks and events on a drag-and-drop calendar view. This integration keeps your project data and time management in one place, eliminating the need to switch between separate tools.

Steps

  1. Open Notion Calendar to get started.
  2. In the right sidebar, go to Useful shortcuts and click Command menu.
  3. In the command panel, click Add Notion database.
  4. Choose the Notion database you want to link to the calendar.
  5. After adding it, click the database name in the left sidebar.
  6. Choose an event or task from the available database items.
  7. Drag the event or task onto the date where you want it to appear on the calendar.
  8. Your Notion database is now linked to Notion Calendar — schedule items by dragging them onto any date.

📌 Why this matters

Notion Calendar's database linking feature bridges the gap between project management and time scheduling by letting users surface any Notion database directly on a visual calendar. Teams can drag tasks and events onto specific dates without duplicating data or leaving the Notion ecosystem. This tight integration means content calendars, sprint backlogs, and weekly planners are all schedulable in seconds. For teams already using Notion as their single source of truth, this feature eliminates friction and reduces reliance on standalone calendar apps.
