Use this interactive demo to learn how to connect Figma directly inside your Jira workspace.

Quick summary

The Figma for Jira integration lets teams link design files directly to Jira issues by installing the Figma app from the Atlassian Marketplace. Once configured, designers and developers can sync Figma designs with Jira tickets without switching tools.

Steps

  1. On Jira's main home page, head to the left-side panel and click 'Apps'.
  2. Click 'Explore More Apps' to open the Atlassian Marketplace.
  3. Tap the search bar and type 'Figma' to find the integration.
  4. Find and select 'Figma for Jira' from the search results.
  5. Click 'Get It Now' in the top-right corner to start installation.
  6. Confirm the Jira sites and apps you want to connect, then click 'Review'.
  7. Click 'Get It Now' again to proceed with the installation.
  8. Click 'Configure' in the top-right corner to begin setup.
  9. Click 'Continue' to advance through the configuration flow.
  10. Read the terms, then click 'Allow Access' to grant the necessary permissions.
  11. Enter your Figma Team URL into the provided input field.
  12. Click 'Connect' to enable the integration between your Jira and Figma accounts.

📌 Why this matters

Integrating Figma with Jira eliminates the handoff gap between design and development teams by embedding live Figma designs directly inside Jira issues. Teams using the Figma for Jira app can review, comment on, and track design changes without leaving their project management workflow. This tighter design-to-development loop reduces miscommunication, accelerates sprint delivery, and keeps everyone aligned on the latest design decisions. For product teams seeking a unified workflow, the Jira-Figma integration is a critical step toward faster, higher-quality releases.
