Use this interactive demo to learn how to send a Salesforce report directly into Google Sheets as a CSV.

Quick summary

You can export a Salesforce report to Google Sheets by downloading the report as a CSV file and then importing it via Google Sheets' built-in File Import feature. This step-by-step process requires no third-party tools and works directly within Salesforce's native export options.

Steps

  1. Click the App Launcher at the top of the Salesforce dashboard.
  2. Scroll down and select Reports from the App Launcher menu.
  3. Select a report from the list to open it.
  4. Once the report is open, click the dropdown button beside the Edit button.
  5. Select Export from the dropdown menu.
  6. Choose Details Only and select CSV as the export format.
  7. Click the Export button to download the file.
  8. Open Google Sheets, click File, then select Import.
  9. Choose the exported CSV file, then click Open.
  10. Click Import Data to insert the CSV file into the Google Sheet.

📌 Why this matters

Exporting Salesforce reports to Google Sheets allows sales and operations teams to analyze CRM data in a flexible, collaborative spreadsheet environment without needing a Salesforce license for every stakeholder. The ability to download Salesforce report data as a CSV and import it directly into Google Sheets eliminates manual data entry and reduces the risk of transcription errors. This workflow is especially valuable for teams that rely on Google Workspace for reporting, dashboards, and cross-functional data sharing. Salesforce's built-in export feature makes this process fast, native, and accessible to any user with report access.
