Steps
- Go to youtube.com and open the video you want to embed in Discord.
- Copy the video URL from the address bar, or click Share below the player and select Copy to grab the link.
- Open Discord, navigate to the server and channel where you want to post the video, and click the message input field at the bottom of the channel.
- Paste the YouTube URL using Ctrl + V on Windows or Cmd + V on Mac, then press Enter to send.
- Discord will automatically generate an embedded preview showing the video thumbnail, title, and a playable inline player.
- If the embed does not appear, go to Discord Settings > Appearance > Messages and ensure Show embeds and links preview is toggled on.
