This demo walks you through editing a map legend in QGIS using the Print Layout editor, covering everything from renaming legend items to adjusting fonts, position, size, and visual styling. Steps
- In the new page layout, click the legend box to enable Item Properties for editing.
- Navigate to the Item Properties panel on the right and open Main Properties to edit the legend name and symbol arrangement within the box.
- Open the Legend Items section and use the operators below the editor box to control which legends are shown in the legend box.
- Highlight and type a new name for the legend to rename it if needed.
- Open Fonts and Text Formatting to modify the font settings of the legend title and legend items.
- Open Position and Size to adjust the legend box width, height, and exact X and Y coordinates within the map layout.
- Open Rotation to adjust the legend box angle if needed.
- Add frames and backgrounds to the legend box to improve visibility by enabling the corresponding options in Item Properties.
- Save your work by clicking the floppy disk icon at the top-left corner of the window.
